Slice Box Cutter Review

Being a long time product reviewer I get quite a few boxes in the mail. Now I would normally just get a kitchen knife to open the boxes. Then I would cut the boxes up for recycling. One time while I was cutting a box up the knife went through the box and cut open my thumb. Now I know better and found a product that will remedy this.

The Slice Box Cutter won reddot design award for 2011. The design is truly unique and works well. The Slice Box Cutter has a ceramic knife that is very safe to handle and the curved handle provides maximum control when you cut open those boxes.

- Includes one double-sided ceramic blade
- Stays sharp 10X longer than steel
- Fully retractable and adjustable length blade
- Easy access blade storage
- Less blade means reduced injuries
- Replacement blades available in packs of 4
- Hand sharpened blades

The Slice Box Cutter is the best looking box cutter you will find. The ceramic blade slices boxes like they were nothing yet has rounded tip that is less prone to injuries. At $20 this is a great gift idea for that handy guy in your life.

CRKT Sampa - Designed by Flavio Ikoma Review

It's been awhile since I reviewed a CRKT knife and today I have the CRKT Sampa for review. The knife was designed by Brazilian knife designer Flavio Ikoma. This knife was drawn to me for its fluid look and design.

Ken Onion suggested general parameters for this gentleman's tactical folder and it shows as it has the familiar feel of a Ken Onion Knife. Flavio Ikoma did the rest with a unique design and quick flipper one handed opening. The blade is premium AUS 8 stainless steel in a drop point shape with recurve and high hollow grind. I chose the high satin finish with a Razor Edge but you can choose the Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge with a black titanium nitride blade coating. The unique handle is made of cold-forged 6061-T6 aluminum and then machined, gray anodized for a titanium look, and finally surfaced finished. The IKBS pivot system is durable and requires little maintenance, yielding a folder with great rigidity and no blade play.

The first thing I noticed when I received the CRKT IKOMA SAMPA Knife was just how lightweight it is. This knife is really light but made tough with a Cold forged aluminum frame. The knife has a futuristic look with the custom knife quality at a reasonable price.
